Latenite Automatic Gets Heavy with “Gravity”

The second single from electronic goth-rock duo Latenite Automatic’s upcoming album hit Bandcamp in late May and comes to YouTube on June 9th. The song, called “Gravity”, is as heavy as the name suggests. Announcing itself with a crushing electronic beat before Jay Brown’s (Weddings) voice and Scott Whalen’s (ex-Imonolith) bass seductively slides in, “Gravity” makes the listener question the fragility of their relationships while swaying to the synth groove. Whalen took care of all musical duties for this single, layering beats, rhythmically chugging guitars, tasteful wah, and sinister harmonies together in a way that drives home the more mature, darker vibe the new album, called Wahrheiten (German for “truth”), is going for. Recorded online between Vienna, Austria and Vancouver, BC during the pandemic, the band says this album questions past mistakes and looks for light in the darkness of uncertain times, all the while searching for the truth. Download the song, turn down the lights, and let Latenite Automatic’s “Gravity” warp your mind.
